So how should you use the eye pillows to activate all these benefits?
1- The eye pillow can simply be placed on your eyes to block the light during savasana, meditation or for sleep or simply be placed on your forehead for its weight and resulting gentle pressure.
2- The eye pillow can be chilled in the freezer for a while and be placed either on the eyes or forehead, to soothe headaches, tired or swollen eyes. Place the eye pillow in a sealable bag before placing it in the freezer to maintain good hygiene.
3- The eye pillow can be warmed up in the microwave to help soothe the pain or stiffness of the sore muscles. Place the eye pillow in the microwave and warm it up for 30-120 seconds depending on the power of your microwave. You can start with 30 seconds and add warm up in intervals of 15-30 seconds until you achieve the desired temperature.
4- You can remove the outer layer of the eye pillow and put a few drops of essential oil, in our case, lavender, on your eye pillow to enhance its aromatherapy effects. Wait until the drops dry before you put the cover back on and use it.
