The Power of Natural Rubber in Yalo Yoga Mats

Posted by on

At Yalo Yoga, we care about the planet! That’s why we ensure all our products are crafted from natural materials like cork, cotton, and rubber. You may have noticed that all our mats feature a strong rubber layer at the bottom—designed to provide perfect stability and grip against the floor. Why? Because rubber is strong, durable, and water-resistant, making it the ideal foundation for your yoga practice.

Where Does Our Rubber Come From?

Natural rubber is derived from rubber trees through a process called tapping. Harvesters carefully make incisions into the tree bark by hand, allowing the fluid to flow into vessels attached to the tree. This process is completely natural and does not harm the tree. Once collected, the fluid undergoes a natural transformation into the durable material we use for the base of our mats.

Why Rubber?

Rubber is a true gift from Mother Earth! It’s non-toxic, sustainable, recyclable, and eco-friendly. Beyond its positive environmental impact, it also provides a soft yet supportive cushion without compromising grip. In fact, rubber surfaces have been proven to reduce fatigue and prevent foot injuries.

This is why rubber aligns so well with our values—it supports your practice while respecting the planet. With Yalo Yoga mats, you don’t have to choose between performance and sustainability. You get both.
